Pure driving pleasure in the Alpine landscape, combined with a hint of exclusivity, are what make the sixth ARL- BERG CLASSIC Car Rally a must-see for fans of classic vehicles. The participants are excited because the route with 535 km in three days is truly challenging. Mountain and pass roads with curves, curves, curves are waiting to be conquered. The roadbook leads the teams across the challenging Handtennjoch all the way to Pitz- and Ötztal and from Fernpass to Lermoos. What’s new is the “castles and lakes” tour with views of the Bavarian castle Neuschwanstein through Lech valley and back to Lech. Strong engines and fit brakes All classic automobiles built until 1975 are welcome. The organisers pay particular attention to a varied starter field (limited to 100 participants) in terms of makes and models. Last year there even were 40 pre-war veterans that amazed the onlookers and media representatives. The scenic mountain routes with gradients of up to 14% make sufficient engine and brake power a must. And that’s not it: 20 special stages put the drivers’ skills to the test. 54 Celebrate with friends All these challenges have to be celebrated: The weekend is topped off with a stylish gala evening with awards ceremony in the “Glass Tent” outside Park Hotel Arlberg. The culinary lunch breaks also invite the international teams to talk shop about the route and driving experience. True to the motto “through the Alpine landscape with friends” classic car fans can expect a truly historic rally-weekend in front of a wonderful mountain panorama.
